In later seasons, she returns to college to study psychology. Family life is boisterous for the Taylors, with the two oldest children, Brad and Randy, tormenting the much younger Mark, all while continually testing and pestering each other. Basically, Tim Allen loved to poke fun of himself rather than other people, and that makes for the best type of comedy in my opinion... On a snowy night, Tim and Jill drive to Jill's friend Sheila's wedding. Only, they get lost soon, wind up in Ohio, and Tim is reluctant to ask for directions.
Unfortunately, Tim doesn't take lightly to the change, as he feels he has made the show pretty successful over the last three years. On more than one occasion, she and Tim are in complete disagreement. Their different views on the situation turn into several laughs for us. Several of Season 1's guest stars make welcome returns to the show in Season 2. Most frequent are Brad's aforementioned girlfriend Jennifer Sudarsky and Jill's friend Karen whose presence assures uneasy exchanges with Tim; both characters unfortunately did not return after Season 2. Revisiting "Tool Time" are the oddball guys of K & B Construction and real life home repair personality Bob Vila, who again provides hilarity as he calls upon Tim's competitive spirits.

Overall season two is a lot of fun and if you enjoyed season one, then season two will definitely be a riot. It’s just a thought and it may sound ludicrous but I think he could more then pull it off. An avid fan of the Detroit professional sports teams, Tim wears Lions, Pistons, Red Wings, and Tigers clothing in numerous instances, and many plots revolve around the teams. He is a former salesman for the fictional Binford Tool company, and he is very much a cocky, overambitious, accident-prone know-it-all. Witty but flippant, Tim jokes around a lot, even at inappropriate times, much to the dismay of his wife. Jill, Tim's wife, is loving and sophisticated, but she is not exempt from dumb moves herself.
It seems like he just did this because it was good career move, great exposure and the obvious “next level” that someone in his position would take. The "Loose Screws" montage is, as with the first season set, not really an extra, as it simply slices up little bits of footage from the actual episodes. In "Rites and Wrongs Of Passage", Brad starts to act like an out of control teenager and Tim isn't quite sure how to handle the situation. Randy gets picked on at school and Tim takes the issue straight to the bully's father, who turns out to be just as bad as his son. While facing the day-to-day challenges of parenting, marriage, and being an accident-prone personality, Tim again frequently looks over the fence for help. Always there to listen and advise is the Taylors' sage, enigmatic neighbor Wilson .
Home Improvement - Season 2 was a lot better then I thought it was going to be. I really never watched this show just because when it was on, I was so busy doing other things that I basically didn’t watch TV at all. So now getting the chance to revisit it, I think I have stated pretty clearly why this show was successful. Tim Allen has the ability to be really funny and as a result of this we really like him. Add to this that Home Improvement - Season 2 is a very light, easily accessible show and something that can appeal to both men and women , and I think one can understand why this show was as popular as it is. I know that I say this a lot, but I think this material has basically made me say it again, this is a simple TV show so the sound design isn’t going to be anything out of the ordinary. Save for the moments when the laughter happens and a character has to wait to deliver his next line, there aren’t really any moments where things happen with the sound in a Coppola-esque way. Nor do I think the people buying this box set expect to put the disks in their player and have a hard time hearing what is being said. I found that on my crummy TV setup, I was able to hear everything just fine. In fact, I really didn’t have to adjust the sound levels on my television set at all.
Karn guest starred in two episodes of Tim Allen's 2010s ABC/Fox sitcom Last Man Standing in 2013. Thomas has also appeared on Last Man Standing, and has directed episodes of the series. It has been mentioned on review sites about the lack of episode commentaries and bonus features on the DVDs . With an applicable quote from somewhere in humanity's past, Wilson is always able to ease Tim's problems, even if much of what is said gets lost in Tim's translation. Somehow, although the formula is the same in most episodes, it never grows stale perhaps due to the excellent chemistry of the neighbors and also in part to whatever efforts went into finding the perfectly relevant, often obscure source for Wilson to cite. The box is very sturdy with all 8 seasons in their own individual covers.
Brad and Randy collect money for charity and keep some for themselves. On "Tool Time", the holiday festivities include an acapella appearance from jazz band The Manhattan Transfer. Christmas episodes often presented the series at its best, and this is one of the finest "Home Improvement" shows ever. Tim pulls his groin lifting a book-filled trunk, a fact he tries to keep from Jill.
